It can be very stressful getting licensed for the very first time. There are many qualifications required by the state of New Jersey before you are allowed the privilege of starting your journey on the road.

This process of getting licensed can be at times, overwhelming for yourself or your loved ones. We welcome you to Top Driving, where we pride ourselves on preparing first-time drivers into becoming Careful, Confident, Considerate drivers.

We make it our mission to ensure that all of our students fully understand the Rules of the Road and make the Best Decisions Behind the Wheel.

Top Driving teaches students the specifics of New Jersey’s Motor Vehicle Commission’s (MVC) Graduated Driver’s Licensing (GDL) Program and prepares them for their final exam as well as their lifelong journey there after.

Each of our qualified Top Driving Instructors are Friendly, Patient, and Well-Versed in guiding our students every step of the way. We constantly find new ways in keeping our students fully engaged, enjoying the process through their progress.

Our vehicles meet all safety regulations including functional seatbelts and dual-controlled brakes. Licensed and insured by the State of New Jersey while maintaining the highest quality of regular Checkups, Cleanups, and Tuneups.

For your convenience – we are a door to door service provider. We pick up and drop off our students to and from their homes, schools, and workplaces. We are open 7 days a week, operating at reasonable hours to ensure a flexibility and availability in your scheduling. Call us today!

For drivers at age 16 – requires a Student Learner’s Permit, a state approved six hour behind-the-wheel instruction with a licensed driving instructor, and a minimum of six months of supervised driving prior to road test. Permits must be purchased through a licensed driving school.

For drivers at age 17 through 20 – requires an Examination Permit, minimum of six months of supervised driving prior to road test. Permits must be purchased at an NJMVC location. No required hours or permission by licensed driving school. Lessons are still offered and recommended.

For drivers at age 21 and older – requires an Examination Permit, minimum of three months of supervised driving prior to road test. Permits must be purchased at an NJMVC location. No required hours or permission by licensed driving school. Lessons are still offered and recommended.

Earning a driver’s license has long been a rite of passage for teenagers. For all drivers aged 16 – Requires a Student Learner’s Permit Bergen County Top Driving School is happy to offer one on one behind-the-wheel driving instructions to teens throughout Bergen County, New Jersey.

  • You can’t use cell phones, hand held video games or any other hand held electronic device
  • You must be accompanied by an Adult Supervising Driver (at least 21 years old and licensed to drive for at least 3 years) in the front seat
  • Only one additional passenger is allowed.
  • Seatbelts must be worn at all times.
